Without Love there is NOTHING by Rev. Frances D. Montgomery, NST, CM

This morning after a few hectic days this week and last, I mentally said “Thank you God for being in my life.”  Immediately the thought came as a voice in my head, replying: “Without ME there would BE no life.”
That was profound and riveting.  How true.  If there were NO GOD – No Spirit, NO Infinite Intelligence, there WOULD BE NO LIFE.

If everyone realized that how different this whole world would be!

I think of all the souls on the earth plane who do not comprehend this at all.  I ponder those who believe so strongly in THEIR idea of who and what Spirit is that they think they are “supposed to take over the world” with their beliefs.

I thought about the Crusades, which were a series of religiously sanctioned military campaigns waged by much of Latin Christian Europe, particularly the Franks of France and the Holy Roman Empire.  The specific Crusades to restore Christian CONTROL of the Holy Land were fought over a period of nearly 200 years between 1095 and 1291 AD.  How futile it all was.  How many lives lost, families broken, energies wasted in the attempt.

I cannot comprehend how many lives were lost throughout the centuries because people believed it was their right and their divine mission to impose their beliefs according to their understanding on everyone else.

What loving Spirit would demand that?  Why did anyone think they had the right to go into any land and change the beliefs of those people to the beliefs of the invaders?

It continues yet today with Radical Islam/Mohamadism.  There are probably other so-called religions of which I am not aware who practice the same ideology.

How simple it all really is.  Why isn’t it understood yet today that Spirit (Infinite Intelligence, GOD) is simply LOVE?  Without LOVE nothing would exist!

True religion is NOT about a denominational belief of anything.  True religion as stated plainly in our first three of the Spiritualist  Declarations of Principles is believing In Infinite Intelligence, (or God Force), believing that the phenomena of Nature, both physical and spiritual are the expression of Infinite Intelligence and affirming that a correct understanding of such expression and living in accordance therewith constitute true religion.  Not once are the individual beliefs, doctrines and dogma of any denomination mentioned.

Infinite Intelligence has always been and will always be, or continue, to exist.  Without that love nothing would have ever come into being in the first place.  That Force is love incarnate.  Love CREATED it all.

Modern Spiritualism dates from 1848 when the Fox sisters worked out a method of understanding how to communicate with Charles B. Rosna so that they were able to easily understand each other.

Nowhere does it say there wasn’t spirit PRIOR to that time.  Nowhere do we read that was the beginning of the existence of spirit.  Spirit existed in the beginning, actually was the beginning.

Archeology has proven early settlements of humans indicated worship of something greater than themselves.  Tribes had shamans, medicine workers, both male and female, who were led by Infinite Intelligence to know which plants and herbs would benefit humans in what manner to create beneficial conditions to enhance healing of wounds, rashes, physical problems.  People worked with spirit eons ago.  Spirit interaction in human lives is not new.  It only became more understandable to the masses because of the Fox Sisters and Charles B. Rosna.

Why then is it so difficult for humans to simply rely on that loving force and try to live up to that requirement?  Why can’t we allow others to live in peace with their spiritual beliefs and they to do the same for us?

Every soul whether realizing it or not is on a spiritual path to grow back into a oneness with the overall Spiritual Force.  There are many roads up the mountain – not everyone takes the same road and we grow forward in knowledge and understanding according to our thoughts and actions or reactions to the situations life presents us and the way we handle and learn from those experiences.

It should be so easy to understand this but apparently it is not.

We should be eternally grateful that we as Spiritualists have this understanding.  I thank my parents who reared me in Spiritualism as a religion, that they gave me that knowledge, taught me to be responsible and to strive to be kind.

It is our responsibility to act in this manner and attempt to the best of our ability to set this example for others to see and hopefully emulate.  Jesus, the Wayshower, spent his lifetime on earth in that attempt.  Should we do less?

My prayer for myself and others is that we make daily efforts in this challenge.  It is not easy to do that.

Every day we start off with a clean slate to once again strive in that effort.  Take a moment to assess your life, attempt to see where you could have done better, forgive yourself for your failures and move forward with sincerity in the attempt to be a more worthy person of this ever-present loving energy in your life.

We have been told to love one another as we love ourselves.

Spirit is love.  Spirit is alive.  You are alive because of that love.  Make a Joyful noise unto that Force and experience the exhilaration that it provides you simply because it IS – and it is YOURS.

May you always be aware of that love.
